The Phillies’ Class A minor league teams are now a combined 36 and 86 for a winning percentage of .295.
The farm system is a direct measure of Ruben Amaro’s skills and the organization’s commitment to fielding a winner over the long run.
The higher minors are better. Reading is 30-29. Lehigh Valley is 32-31, in other words, absolute mediocrity.
So while we can look forward to mediocrity, it only gets worse from there.
It’s the ghost of Phillies past. But will Scrooge- the Phillies owners- see the light? The only way we’ll know is if Maitre d’ Monty and headwaiter Ruben are shown the door, unceremoniously. This house needs a thorough cleaning. Otherwise the stench of the cronyism that has been the hallmark of this organization will remain and poison the future as well.
Reading Fightin Phils – Double A
The Fightin Phils fell to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 7-1, at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pa.
The team has now lost 14 of its last 15 games.
be owners will never see the light, David Montgomery had to be knocked off his spot to be replaced by John Middleton, Amaro has to be fired and all of the scouts in front office people and all of the coaches and instructional Coaches in the hole minor league system, they all have to go, then you go out and hire and raid the Cardinals the Braves the Marlins organizations and try to get their scouts and their instructional teachers. it will be money well spent.that’s how you start a good baseball team.
I don’t think this ownership group is up to the task, or even cares. That’s what’s so maddening.
